April 1965
April, 1965, proved to be a very mysterious and, in fact, clairvoyant issue of Playboy. Lannie Balcom, this month's cover girl, was chosen as the PMOM in August, only a few months later. She died from "undisclosed causes" in 1991. Sue Williams, the PMOM, owns the distinction of being Playboy's shortest (4'11") Playmate and the first to get, um, "enhancements." She committed suicide only 4 years later. Also featured is a short story by Jean Shepherd. It was his short story, "In God We Trust..." on which the cult classic "A Christmas Story" was based.
